Hello!

I'm Delaney Dickerson, all around creative person.

In the early 90s I began pursuing art in a small studio inside The HUB building in downtown Phoenix, across from the San Marcos Hotel, now known as The Valley Bar. The building held about fifteen studios filled with painters, poets, photographers, and writers. Every month brought something new, from group gallery shows and poetry slams to live music and late-night painting sessions that stretched into the early morning hours.

I shared that space with a community of incredible creatives including Robert Anderson, Shelly Johnson, Jeff Cochran, David Lewis, Mike Michuta, Brian Flatgard, Mark Fleming, Leslie Barton, Luis Gutierrez, and many others. Those were unforgettable years filled with wild stories, laughter, and creative energy.

At that time, there were only a few art spaces and galleries downtown. Together, we helped spark what became First Friday. I can still picture Barry Smith playing his electric violin outside, the sound echoing through empty streets and pulling people toward the studios. That same group of artists later moved to 4th St. House Studios in the area now known as Roosevelt Row.

Today, I continue to create as a painter with a couple smaller murals around the valley, multimedia artist, blending visual storytelling through paint, video, and digital experimentation. My work is often inspired by people, movement, and the emotional spaces between light and sound.

If I had to describe myself, I would say I am an introvert, occasional social butterfly, creative thinker, connector of people, visual enthusiast, image capturer, soul seeker, and maker of things.
